Planting Strawberries -- DIY Strawberry Tower

This year I decided to order my plants from Gurneys.  I have ordered quite a bit, and they arrive in time for planting in my zone.  Love that.

The strawberries arrived last week.

It was super cold and windy, so I kept them in their bag (bare root) in the garage.  When I was ready to plant, I soaked the roots for a good 2 hours like the instructions said.

Soaking.
While they were soaking, I made a DIY Strawberry Tower (I have never had much luck with Strawberry Pots).
Planted 50 plants.  I have my strawberry towers clustered so I can easily net them should I have bird issues.  (Birds trying to eat them).
A couple of days later they are budding up.
The Hubs has used this dirt and brought in more to fill the 4 troughs and they are now ready to plant.
In the meantime it has been a super long week for the Hubs.  This cute little guy Klaus decided to practice "indescriminate dining" on some dirt clods and upset his little stomach.  Yes, he has to take antibiotics.  Then both him and the Hubs got bit by a bee.  What a week.

That Touch of Inspiration......

What is it about the beginning of Spring that brings thoughts of inspiration.  Thoughts of all the wonderful projects to do around the house.  And.....way to many to-do  lists.

A touch of my inspiration below.  Hopefully I will get to all of it.

Quotes as wall art.  Black doors.  Simple, easy and effective.

Butterflies as wall art. Gray velvet.  Fancy Mirrors.
Bull in a china shop.  Genius.
Lots of mirrors and fringe.  As well as pillows and a great place to lounge.
Same room below, and I love it every time I look at it.  Fringe, lounging, great black table, inspirational pictures, everything, I love it all.
Pillows on leather.  Look closely, the seat of the couch is covered and pillows are stacked on the couch.  Love the stacked art in the back.  That ottoman.....need I say more?
As always, black doors.
Ahhhhhhhhh, Inspiration.

Lessons from Audrey Hepburn.....

Who doesn't love Audrey Hepburn?  From Breakfast at Tiffany's to Wait Until Dark.  I love all her movies.

Here is some Audrey inspiration for your day.

Smile.  Smile.  Like they said in Steel Magnolias "Smile, it improves your face value.".  Smile.  Your teeth don't have to be perfect.  Smile, it is your best accessory. Smile.

No matter what your age smile.
Sunglasses.  Greatest invention ever.  Good for all day every day.  Just ask Rachel Zoe, or any rocker.  Sunglasses.

Classic sunglasses.  How can you go wrong?

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  Oh, and calories eaten while standing up don't count......(joking).

It is okay to eat on the floor.  Seriously.

When in doubt........go classic.  Classic black and classic white shirt.
It is okay to nap on the couch!  I love how she has moved the couch pillow and is using it behind her head.

Working on the Garden this week....pics to come.

Thank you Vogue Interiors......

Thank you Vogue......
I don't know whose house this is, but can I just say, I love the combination of leopard and leather.

Vogue Culture has a whole section devoted to Homes.

I have some old red leather chairs, that need to be leopard.  Hmmmmmmm.  Now if I could only sew.

How do you use leopard?  Leopard is the new black, it is a great neutral.

Jewelry Inspiration

It dawned on me I should give a little jewelry inspiration background.
My amazing daughter is the inspiration behind most of my jewelry.

She also inspires me to look around.

Below are some inspired pieces.

Love Taylor Jacobson and her Rivington Neckalce.

My inspiration with chain knots and just a few crosses.
What can I say except I love the Vampire Diaries.

The inspiration here, wear as a bracelet or necklace.  Hey, a girl has to have options.

Don't Trust the "B" in Apartment 23.

Who doesn't love Pretty Little Liars?
Fine, who doesn't love skulls?

I also noticed lots of charm style necklaces on Liars recently, that was the inspiration for the necklace below.
