Skirted Kitchen Sink

This is such a cute elegant skirted kitchen sink. So many homes have old sinks that need to be skirted to look cute and this one is elegant. From the mirror to the lamps, oooh what can I say. I Love it. This could also be wonderful in a bathroom.

I am sorry I don't know where this picture is from.

Handbag - Succulent Purse - Gardening

Wouldn't this be a magnificent center piece? I would love this. This succulent handbag is from Smith and Hawkins. What a fun great gift. I wonder if this could be a DIY, you could even just do the purse and leave the handle? Maybe I will try.

Extra Zucchini? Make Calabacitas!

Is your garden over run with zucchini? Well then this time of year you should make Calabacitas. Yum.

3-4 zucchini
1 can Nibblets corn -- or 1 cup frozen corn
1 15 oz can stewed tomatoes - or equivilant of fresh tomatoes, peeled (if your garden is full of tomatoes)
1 medium onion
1 or 2 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon butter

Cut and saute zucchini, onion, garlic, in butter, until onion is translucent and zucchini is cooked/soft. Then add your stewed tomatoes, and your corn and simmer until flavors meld about 10 - 15 minutes. Then eat and enjoy.

If I have left overs, the next day I add a can of black beans drained and some hamburger meat and serve it up.

Art as a Headboard

I have been thinking about doing something similar in our bedroom for quite some time. We have a small master and no room for a headboard. I think an art canvas, either painted or covered in fabric would be great. What do you think?

Pant Hangers as Art Hangers

Saw this over at Apartment Therapy. Got some old hangers? You have a great decorating idea. This would be great for back to school and a rotating art gallery, or good paper gallery.

Food Network Giada De Laurentiis

I love peeking into houses, anyones house. I still go to open houses and the Parade of Homes because I just love it. The house below is Giada De Laurentiis from Food Network. She has great style. I myself have red leather chairs. Great look. In addition, I am in the process of painting my whole house that bright white color and loving every bit of it. Will post pics when done, hopefully will get done. So take a look and enjoy.

You can still get this look with a simple Parson's Desk from Walmart $69.00, it comes in white, and have a piece of glass or plexi cut for the top.

I love this outdoor space. Wish I was brave enough to go with cushioned furniture, but here in the southwest it is the spider capital of the world. I would always be worried about getting bit.

All pictures from Architectural Digest. http://www.architecturaldigest.com/homes/homes/2008/12/delaurentis_slideshow?showall=true. Click link for full article and more great pics.

Movie - Coco Before Chanel

There are very few movies that I say I can't wait for. However, this one is one I am going to say that about. Maybe my college age daughter will go with me. Let's face it the Hubs is not going to this one. If I go alone, which I won't mind, it will be a Giant Bucket -- okay just a Medium Bag of popcorn and some iced tea and I am set. Bring on a great movie. Coco Before Chanel. A biography of sorts of her life, it goes from her early days after her father died to early in her fashion career. Did you know that her apartment at 31 Rue Cambon has been frozen in time since 1971 after she died? Wow. Her apartment as you can see by the 2 pictures from the set was an eclectic mix, back when matchy matchy was in style. I just love the large sofa and wall of books. Although most people only know her for her perfume, let's face it her clothing was magnificant, and her interior design was well received too. Classic, can't wait for the movie.

Photos, set photos and IMBD.

Rachel Zoe Tassel Bracelet

it's no secret that I love Rachel Zoe. So when I saw tons of blogs looking for her tassel bracelet I said to my self, "Where can I find one?". Well there are some recreations out there kiddies for $60.00+ but for a one or two time wear, it is more than I am willing to spend, and in addition for gold filled, well, no way. So I went cheap at Forever 21, see below.

Forever 21 Tasseled Necklace $12.80. Wrap around wrist multiple times, secure with a cheap lobster clasp, $2.00 or less from your favorite craft store in the jewelry findings, and off you go. Or interpret the look and go with a necklace. Want more tassels, buy a couple to add on at your craft store. Total look less than $20.00. My kind of shopping.
Forever 21 Tassel Necklace $4.80. Even cheaper. You decide.
