DIY Flowers Spilling Out of Pot On Ground

Our yard took a beating this winter.  We had massive cold snaps all the way into May.  I am so glad I am not trying to grow a vegetable garden this year.

However, I do have some spots that need some help.  I am loving this image below from Sunstate Companies - Las Vegas, NM.
I have this great pot shown below.

I have tons of dead space out front.  I think almost every plant froze to death.
I have this rock area right by the front door.

Now to decide.   I am leaning towards the rock area.  At the far right is a kind of large plant, but I could trim it down.

Decisions, decisions.  It is 100 degrees in the Southwest right now.  Too hot to plant.

Do you display Wine Corks?

Years ago at a friends house she had a big bowl of wine corks.  I loved it so much I had to copy it.

I do a big bowl.

And.....have started a jar.  Feeling like a wino.
Want to get yours started, but not a big wine drinker?  Look for a winemaking store/ beer making store, and call.  They sell them by the bag.  Or go online and buy a bag of corks.  Great way to get your bowl/jar started.

Just fun.  Smile.

Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork - Crockpot Cooking

I had to post this, even though I don't have the finished product pics.  -- We ate it all. Oops.

Anyway, I took a pork roast, just whatever I found at the grocery store.  Lots of people use Pork Shoulder/Butt -- but, (hehe) I just used a pork roast with very little fat.

Put in Crockpot, cover with a can of Chipotle Sauce, and Dr. Pepper, add 3 tablespoons of brown sugar and cook, cook, cook, until done.  I cooked mine on high for 3 hours then low until it was falling apart.  I shredded it in the Crockpot, added 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce, and then cooked on low for another hour.

Serve on rolls, toast, rice, noodles.

I am sure this could also be done with chicken.  I would use 4-6 breasts so it made alot.  Leftovers and all.  I will have to give it a try.
