Lounge Chair Covers DIY

I have 3 lounge chairs. I have never put pads/covers on them, because here in the southwest it is spiders, spiders, spiders. The hubs checks every chair before he sits down. So, we normally just check them, throw a towel on and lounge.

With the cool mornings, and evenings, I would love to read a book on one.

Soooooo. I was cleaning out my mag/catalog stash, and ran across this one from Pottery Barn, and had an ahhh haaa moment.........see below.

This comforter (my daughter's old one), in a closet. She said she wasn't going to use it. It is no longer her style. Nice, and puffy, great colors for a patio. Sew in a straight line, (I can do that), put on some ties, (I think I can), and roll up when not in use. Thus, no spiders, cushion when you want, and best of all washable. Oh, and will easily make 3.

Two of my lounge chairs pictured below. Now, do I do it or not?

Fur Chairs - Hairy Chairs

I have been seeing fur chairs, throws, you name it. Draped on couches, chairs, benches. Love it all. The 2 below are from Pottery Barn, but get to the end it is my personal favorite.

This one below is my fave. Don't know where it is from. But, love it.

Here's a hint. If you want some fur, sheepskin, any of that now is the best time. Go to your local fabric store, or even big box store (for a throw). At the fabric store, you can cut to fit. You can even cut it to make it more uneven. Here's a tip though, check it for shedding.

Enjoy.

I am loving that chair. Looking for a chair to fur now.

Rachel Zoe's New House 2011

Well, here it is. Rachel Zoe's 2011 $20,000 rental house.

I love white, but this truthfully maybe toooooo much. Also, anyone with kids, dogs, husbands, cats, friends, you name it, knows if it isn't washable, it will be stained. Also, no window treatments.

So the living room. Yes, she has a Jonathon Lounge. They look great but I do wonder if they are comfortable at all? Anyone? Love the couch, but the chairs, look bean bagish.

Man Room.

Dining room.

Kitchen. All very square and hard edged. Lots of branches around, in all rooms.

Bedroom.

More master bedroom. Tip, if you want a little fur on your bed, now is the time. The fur throws will be making their appearance at all the big box stores.

And yes, a house that big has to have big closets.

More closet.

Couldn't resist. Is she wearing the expensive "Push Present"?

So----love it hate it, take it or leave it, you decide.

All photos Bravo TV.

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Rachel Zoe's New Home 2011

Guilty reality TV pleasures. Well tonight it is Rachel Zoe on the move. So here is a little tempting taste. (I hope to have some screen shots tomorrow of her new interior). How convenient -- or conveeeeenient (read SNL Church Lady) that she a styling assistant that is also a semi interior decorator.

Well can't wait to see what they do. White anyone?

Photos below, MLS and google images. Below is Rachel's current leased apartment. I love the super small kitchen. How about the Hermes blanket on the couch.
Rachel's new house. Or Rodg and Rache's new house below. MLS and Google Images.

Making Glitter Shoes - Pumps

Make your own Glitter Shoes!! Don't theese look amazing?

Well they are a funny, ok not that funny story. Last Friday while running errands, I had to run into Pier One and get some fall type room spray, well, after parking, I went to step up on the step and fell. I was so embarassed, luckily, no one saw me, I had parked in the corner, and I could go in and get my room spray. Still I was embarassed. That same night, my neighbor was telling me about falling/tripping at a party, and wearing a short skirt. Then.....yes, that same night, my daughter went to a pub and what? Yes, fell.

What was it with last Friday? Well TGIF, and we get to do it all again.

So, I told my daughter about some glitter shoes I had seen, and guess what? She did it. They are amazing. I may need some.

Tutorial and before and afters at Bang by Lo .

Wow, I can't believe these are the same shoes. Make some this weekend.

Vicente Wolfe - Art on Chairs

It is no secret that I love art. I love all art, and any kind of art, from top artists, to diy, to photos, I think there is room in your home for it all. What I love about these pics, is the art on the chairs. No, it's not for everyone. Especially if you have small kids --, large dogs, ---but what fun it is. Hmmm, wonder if I have somewhere I can put some art on chairs?

Enjoy.

Turquoise Shutters Slipcovers

Totally random, but lately I have been thinking about slipcovers, probably because sometimes I feel so brown with my brown leather couch.

Loving this room from House Beautiful. Love the turquoise shutters, and if you look real close, both couches have slipcovers over the top of them. Nothing fancy, just sewn and slipped on top. I am guessing attached cushions underneath? Hmmmm. They really look nice. Very simple and understated.

I ran across this pic on a blog and had to laugh. Laugh out loud. With the Charlie Sheen Roast airing on Monday, no not gonna watch, this bathroom is just too funny. It is from a house that is currently for sale. Linke below.

Goodwill Candle Holders

They relocated and refreshed one of our Goodwills yesterday. Sooooo, my daughter, the hubs and I went thrifting. Totally fun, everyone scored (more about the scores next week). The hubs scored 2 of these great rod iron candle holders. $3.99 each. Great price. Put them on the outdoor patio and they look great. No, I won't light them with the curtains blowing in the wind.

Make it a great Friday. Smile.

Photo Collage - Photo Wall

While cleaning out closets, and consolidating pics, I ran across the most amazing pics of my daughter (who is the most amazing, awesome, greatest, person I know) and my wonderful Husband aka the Hubs. So, in his office which we are tailoring for him, I am going to do a photo collage wall. I am going to convert all the pics to black and white, so printer ink, get ready..........

Wall above has magnetic paint on it. Pic, HGTV.

I want it to be a little more collagy(is that a word)? like the pic above. So......pics next week.

I will be taking pics and converting them to black and white, via printing, and color copying. I can't wait.

A Touch of Yellow for Fall

I think I have become my mother. I am loving a touch of yellow. What color reminds you of your mother?
Image above from Lonny Magazine, this issue. Here . I am loving the online magazines. I love the yellow door, I was just thinking about yellow doors the other day. Loving the touch of zebra in an ottoman, and well what can I say, I have always wanted an entry table. Although, I am sure it would be covered with stuff. However, my house design is never going to allow for an entry table.

Love yellow velvet. Not sure where pic is from.

Yellow and zebra. Need I say more. Too fun. Not my style, but totally fun. (I did the polka dot Gossip Girl style headboard--remember). Love it. Not sure where pic is from.

Yellow, shaggy throw and love the door. Not sure where pic is from.

Great use of old beds. Pic from Elle Decor.

Yellow, it's for all year long. Enjoy.

Cleaning out the Closets......

I am sure there is a song about "Cleaning out the Closet". But, seriously, have you ever opened your closet and felt like it just exploded on you. Well, I am feeling that way about all my closets, and some rooms too. So, I spent today, cleaning....out the closets. My trash cans runnith over. And, not with junk with like trash, boxes, etc. So, I am feeling a bit better. Old houses have small closets, only so much you can do. But,......a little cleaning never hurt.

Best part of Tuesday.....Rachel Zoe is on tonight. Oh, yay.

Enjoy. Sorry for the late post.

Ghost Chairs -- Office -- and a Closet

Ok, so I am a total taker backer. If that is even a word. I found 4 of these folding Ghost Chairs at Goodwill, and my daughter was using them for awhile. But, since they were in her way, and not working for her, I took them back, thus making me a taker baker, but with her permission. I am using 2 in my office, and the other 2 not sure where, maybe back to my daughters? Or, in my portion of the wine room (which we are still working on).

Anyway, I have been obsessing about closets, and I really need some closet space. I don't have that many clothes, but I hate having to dig in the corner of my closet to get dressed. You see old houses have small closets, really small closets, and no storage space at all.

So, it got me surfing and I ran across Lauren Santo Domingo from Vogue.com, and her wonderful closet office.

It got me thinking of my own office.
One side of my office with my Goodwill Ghost Chairs.

Another view. Behind me or on the other side, is exercise equipment. I keep trying to pawn off on my daughter. I must try harder.

Lauren Santo Domingo's closet and office. She uses their 2nd bedroom as her closet and office. I like that idea.

They also have a TV room, they are converting to a nursery, and a huge vinyl record room (aka the husbands room).

I know it is a total luxury to dedicate total rooms to closets, offices, etc. But, if you have an extra room, you should use it. Why let it just sit there with the door closed? Give an extra room a try and make some use of it. Oh, use what you have, no need to purchase, re-purpose, re-work, re-use. Make a bed a lounging area/couch, use the room for video games, reading relaxing. Use your imagination.

Oh, totally couldn't resist the pic below, also Lauren Santo Domingo, her jewelry drawer. I may have to try this idea too.

Mondays, not so bad after all.

Happy Weekend

Via Pinterest. Love. Make it a great weekend.

Makes me want a grilled cheese sandwich and a can of potato soup.
No judging on the can of potato soup. I do doll it up with either a bit of green chilie or a smidge of corn, and grated cheese on top. Bacon crumbles would be good too.

Halloween Ghost Ring -- Again

I know, I am still thinking Halloween. But, I can't help it. I love it, and the mini Milky Ways too.

Anyway, normally I do lighted houses in the house, etc. (May not do those this year, the hubs will be bummed, last year, he got so bummed I had to do them, but.....hmmm not sure I want to decorate the inside). But I really want a ghost ring. So, I may have to scoure Wally World, and get some cheap sheets, or Tah-Jay. Then, some wood, or pvc stakes, some foam balls (prob the most expensive) and markers, currently pondering what to use instead of foam balls for the heads, something cheaper. May have to hit the Dollar Store and wander the isles. Wonder if I could do it for $20 or less? Thinking.

This one is my fav with the cauldron.

Love these from a few years ago at Grandin Road. Honestly look like they are moving.

Someone's homemade ones love. Sorry, not sure where image is from.

Grandin Road, and life size. Fun.

Grandin Road, floaty and fun.

Yay, it's Friday.

Load Your Couches with Pillows

With the little bit of fall crispness in the weather it got me thinking about pillows, slipcovers, and the like. Pillows are a quick and inexpensive (if you shop at the right places) upgrade to any existing couch, chair, or bed for that matter.
Love all the jewel tone velvet pillows. Currently they are $9.99 at Cost Plus World Market, in great jewel tones. Pillow will prob last one season, you could always change the insert if it got too squishy.

Fun built in couch, loaded with pillows.

Loving velvet right now.

I loved this, because if you look closely, it is a slipcover made for a couch that has the attached front and back pillows. Best part is the slipcover looks to fit snug, so not too much movement. Loving it.

Images above via myfavoriteandmybest, pinterest (totally hooked).

Love the pile on of pillows, the throws, the patina. Look at that chair, has def seen better days, but I am loving the patina, and the fact that it is still there. Kind of glamorous (currently singing the Fergie song to spell glamorous) the old the new the worn. Image via Sunset Mag.

Currently, rearranging....."I am debi, and I need to go to rearrangers annonymous...." haha.

Also, singing -- "I washed that gray right outa my hair".

Do you dye your own hair? Random, I know.

Make it a great day.

Photo Collage Displaying Photos

How do you display your photos? Let's face it, everyone takes tons. But where do you display them? I love this idea. You could just use a large canvas, and attach them randomly, and add and subtract as needed or wanted. I like the idea of a large canvas because it seems more 3 dimensional. You could even print your photos all in black and white, as well as print them on the post-it photo paper so they just stick. How about an old crummy fridge? Print your photos on the post-it sticky photo paper and just stick to your fridge. When they get gross or old, print new photos. Just some fun random ideas. What a fun idea for any room.

So, how do you display your photos?
