Here in the Southwest, Latillas, pronounced, La-te-yas, are everywhere. People use them as ladders against houses, (for looks only). Well, we used ours as curtain rods. They were about $7.00 each, way less expensive than a 109" rod, and we love the casual draping of the curtains, and the kind of loose uneven hem it creates on the rod.
We purchased, and sanded them, so the drapes would slide easily. In this old 1947 house, mini blinds or cellular shades were not an option, as the windows have a slight cove, and aren't exactly, perfectly, square. So, this was our option. We love it. What are you using as a creative curtain rod?
