I Love it - Maybelline Baby Lips

Warning Product Post.  Not Decorating.  Oh, and I received NO compensation.  The other day when visiting my amazing daughter at work, she told me about this great lip balm, Baby Lips, she had it on and it looked beautiful, just a hint of color, just enough.

On a quick trip to my favorite store -- Target or Tah-Jay, I ran to the beauty isle and there it was.  $2.99, and in several shades.  I did go with the red shade, (the shade my daughter had on), it is like wearing a smooth lip balm, with a hint of color.  I am not one for red, but I thought, ya, I am going to try it.  Can I just scream -- "LOVE IT"!!.

If you are looking for a new lip balm, give it a try.  The price is right, and the wear and feel are amazing.  Hey Maybelline, don't stop making this product.  I love it.

Cat Eye's are Back -- Mad Men Season 5 "Zou Bisou Bisou"

Let's just start off by saying Yay to Mad Men.  Loved the 2 hour opener.  With that said, if you missed it at least take the time to go to YouTube and see the "Zou Bisou Bisou" song.

Now, that we have that out of the way, let's talk Cat Eyes.  Oh yes they are back! Need I say more.
Here is some inspiration for you.

Mad Men Season 5 Mrs. Megan Draper in the "Zou Bisou Bisou" song.
Dramatic eyes, and wow to that dress.
Vintage magazine ad for Body By Fisher -- notice the automobile earrings.  Really, notice the Cat Eyes.

DIY Glitter Shoes

I needed some navy shoes for a dinner event.  And, truthfully didn't want to spend any money.  Then I remembered my amazing daughter over at Bang by Lo, did some glitter shoes, to salvage a pair she ruined when leaving a pub.  So, I hoped over (link above) and followed her instructions.  I will be wearing these shoes tonight.  Can't wait.

I took old shoes, (an old pair from Target), and cleaned them.  Assembled my Alene's Tacky Glue, some super fine navy glitter from Michaels, I wanted fine glitter, but you can use a thicker if you want. There they are pre-glitter.
I decided not to glitter the heels, as I liked them.  So they will remain the same.

Glue, glitter, let dry.  Spray all over with hair spray, any old kind of hair spray to set the glitter.  I don't know how it does it but it sets it.
Love them.  Can't wait to wear them.  Thanks Lo.
Now, I may have to do a multi colored glitter pair for New Years.

Coral Jeans Budget Friendly

Everything old is new again. The colored jeans of the 1980's are back. But this time they are Coral. Coral jeans are everywhere, but I found some that are budget friendly. The jeans below are from the Forever 21 website, Forever21, and they are $26.50.

What I am really coveting though is the black patent leatherette loafers, $24.80. Hmmmmm.

Cuff/Roll Your Jeans

It is almost summer time. Feeling the need to show off your sandles, or some great heels? Cuff your jeans. Take any pair of jeans from straight leg to a boot cut and make them capri, best part, you choose where they hit on your leg.

Simple instructions below.
This is a pair of a semi boot cut jean.

I want the leg a little straighter so, I am taking a pinch in the middle.

Then one roll.

Then 2 rolls. This would hit above my ankles and below my calf. Now I like the 50's look, (this is a 50's roll) of a roll that isn't perfect.

If you prefer it perfect. See next pic.

By the 3rd roll totally straightend out. How you wear it is up to you. If you have a straight pair of jeans, you don't have to do the pinch. The only jeans this won't work on is a really flared pair, just too much fabric.

What are you waiting for?

Inspiration -- Ralph Lauren Style

I was perusing the Ralph Lauren Spring Collection and ran across this piece of inspiration.

I am loving the use of old "Cowboy" style "Western" belts. You could get this kind of feeling with a belt from Target or your favorite Thrift store. Too new looking, scratch it up a bit with a nail file.

For the look, I am leaning more to jeans, heels, and a long white or black shirt, with the belt loose over the top myself.

Love the look below.

Love the skirt below, not crazy about the blouse. Would like something simpler.

Bring out your maxi dresses, and add a belt.

Lara Spencer Hollywood at Home HGTV White Dress

Lara Spencer recently showed her home on an episode of HGTV's Hollywood at Home. If you haven't seen it, HGTV has dates and times posted on their website.
HGTV
I loved her home, but it was the white shift dress that I truly fell in love with. It has these swishy dangles off it, and is gorgeous. She is wearing simple flip flops.

Enjoy this pic of the marvelous dress. How great would it be in black?

Below enjoy a few of her house, and check out Hollywood at Home on HGTV.

Living room. Thru the fireplace on the opposite side, where they lounge and watch tv. Love it.

Dining Room, love the light fixture. Bling.

Still loving that dress. Wonder where it is from?

Love White Shirts

I love white shirts. T-shirts, tunics, button downs, you name it I love white shirts. If you know me you know how much I love them. Do I need to give you another pic of Carolina Herrera? Well here is a great pic of a white shirt.
Cameron Diaz. Love it. Love the brown belt, gold jewelry. Just love.

Rachel Bilson. Love.

So, dig in your closet, or your guy's closet, and wear a white shirt this week. You will love it.

Weather permitting, it has done nothing but blow here, like 50+ mph, I am still trying to paint doors and window trim.

Shopping in my Closet!!

So when looking to do a little updating, I ran across this cute skirt from Forever 21, less than $12. I have a long gray skirt in my closet, and a shortish black jacket, I think I will sub the booties for some gladiator sandals. Even just the long skirt and a white top, with sandals, would feel fresh. BCBG, is showing maxi skirts, in black, and tan, and they are $88.

Denim is big this year. This shirt is from Chico's, would look cute with leggings, or a little leather skirt peeking out the bottom. Oh, and I bet you have something similar in your closet.

Everyone needs a Shirtdress. They are great to just throw on and go, or if you are lounging around the house, just put some Target Capri leggings on underneat, $8, and lounge in style. I bet you have a Shirtdress in your closet.

Tunic length white shirt, or any great white shirt. I own way too many. Great with leggings, jeans, tied up at waist, mini skirt underneath, you name it.

So, shop your closet, then shop the mall, or boutique stores for a couple of accessories to jazz up outfits you already own.
