Working on Wine Room

I feel like the old Dunkin Donuts Commercial -- "Need to finish the wine room," instead of "Time to make the donuts."
Well, --- I need to finish the wine room.  As a perpetual zhush and rearranger, this is the new arrangement.

Inspired by something I saw on Craigs List, I dug out this old black chest, -- oops forgot the before pics,  --before it was some sort of brown wood, painted white.  It has been given a fresh coat of black paint and is being used as wine storage.  (Oh, and the mess in the garage with all the stuff this chest was holding-- well oops, when it warms up, I will clean it up, no photos of that).  My goal is to use what we have, until we decide exactly how we want to use this room.  My guess -- we will be using the room as wine storage.

The room is an "L" shape, this is the right side from the door.
Our wine label.  The Hubs took this photo, behind our house and we use it as our wine label.
Wine label.  Looks like it's "Time to make some wine."
These are the hanging labels you see on the wine.  Simple and easy, so you don't have to remove bottles to see what you have.

This is the looking in of the "L" -- or the first part of the wine room.  The part you have seen in photos is to the right as you stand in this door.  These rooms stay a great constant temp.  Originally, we invisioned this room as more of a wine making room.  Soooooooo, that brings me to a need for a thin table, etc. to hold/store the ecoutremants. Thinking cap on.

I am hoping to zhush it a little this weekend by looking around the house/garage to see what I can find to -- "use what I have."  Wish me luck.
It's Friday.  Weekend projects anyone?
Go Lobos!!

Wine Room Art - Large Poster Print - Lighted Wine Bottle

The Hubs and I have been in the process of making a wine room.  He makes wine, and we need additional storage.  So for his birthday, I had his wine label blown up into a 20 x 30 poster, you can see it at the back.  Looks great. We need to hang it still.  Oh, and we need to complete the wine room.  This is just one area, the storage area, the prep, and making area is in the front of this area.  Pics of that later.

A few days ago, our neighbors brought over a lighted wine bottle, with his label on it.
The poster/wine label blown up.  Costco did it for $8.99, then I put a frame on it.  The quality of the poster is great.  I highly recommend Costco if you are looking for poster prints.  The price is right too.

Barn Doors Inside

We have been working on a wine room, and are putting in a hanging barn door. These are giving me great inspiration. Love them all.

Can't wait to get to the door stage. We are using an old wooden screen door that my daughter and the hubs bought years ago, it is a natural wood and fits the door space perfectly. Our local hardware store actually had the barn door tracks and hardware, at an insanely cheap price. So check your area, and look to your rural hardware stores if you are interested in this look.

Working on Wine Room

These pics were taken quite some time ago. Yes, we are still working on it. Oh, well.
This is looking from the back of the garage into what will become the wine room. On the right, we totally put up drywall and covered up an old window that was useless, and had been drywalled over in the interior room years ago.

This is moved a little to the left and you can see where we put the room. To the top right where you see the drywall, is also part of the room, as it was an existing room in the garage.

That's the Hubs getting his drywall on.

This is the existing room.

This is looking out the office door thru the new wine room into the garage. The existing room is right to the right. So it kind of makes and "L".

Below is coming into the wine room from the garage, it shows the door to the office and the existing room of the "L" on the left.

Hope these aren't too confusing.

So anyway, we have heavy knock off texture on this old 1947 house, (came with the house, haha). We are going to rent the equipment and texture the walls. I have been taping them off every chance I get, and we are down to just one corner. Then the fun can begin.

Wish us luck. With any luck I can get some good pics.

Wine Room

We are doing a wine room, and this one has totally inspired me. Ours has a long skinny area, and I love the simplicity of the storage and the look of this room.

Maybe some easy shelves with stoppers at the end to hold the wine bottles in is exactly what we need. Hmmmmm.

Love this beautiful inspiration.

The amazing wine room above is from the Bedford Post Inn, owned by Richard Gere and his wife. Love it.

Wine Room -- Need To Finish

Ok, so it is cold, blustery and super windy here in beautiful Albuquerque. However, I just can't get motivated to finish the Wine Room. We make wine, as well as purchase and drink all kinds, so we had some space and decided to make a wine room. Ok, like 9 months ago, it is sitting, half finished. Oops.

Oh, well maybe these pics will inspire me to finishe taping and texturing the walls.

Or maybe I will watch Real Housewives of Miami. Hmmm.

Wine Riddling Rack

The hubs and I are doing a wine room. Right now it is just a large space with halfway taped and textured walls in the garage. Ok, we need to get working on it, but he has been making both a red and white wine, and well, we just haven't felt like working on it. I was surfing over at Purestylehome.blogspot.com, and saw this great picture from Elle Decor, and it has spurred me on. I love, want, must have a riddling rack. Look how great it looks in this dining room. Must have one. Now, to find one in budget, or to try and make? Hmmmm.
