Hanging Halloween Ghosts and Standing Ghosts

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Halloween is a big deal on our block. However, I just can't get in the mood. But, I did finally get my mojo back, and did this little display for less than $6.00.

Old sheets, free, 6 pumpkin pails, $.89 at Goodwill, covered, in white plastic trash bags to hide the orange, free. The standing ghosts, are on large paint stirs 2 for each, taped together with duct tape, again, free, had in the garage.

Loving them. It is a little breezy today and they are floating in the wind.

So cute, not really scary.

Boo.

Oh, and the standing ghosts, are just standing in old flower pots filled with dirt.

Honestly no tutorial for this as it is so easy. Just poke hole in top of pail and cover with garbage bag, then cover with sheet, and hang, or stick in the ground. Happy Halloween decorating.

Finally - Halloween Decorations

Finally, I have decided on my Halloween Decorations. My neighborhood goes crazy for Halloween.

Normally, I do lighted Halloween Houses down my table, but just not feeling it this year, so I may leave them packed up.

I was toying with the idea of a Halloween Ghost Ring, again, just not feeling it.

Then, I remembered the movie "Hanging Up" and Perfect!!! Totally feeling the Hanging Ghosts. That is what I am going to do.

My porch below, just waiting for some hanging ghosts. Can't wait. I have an old white sheet, that will make at least 6 ghosts. To the dollar store I go for some cheap pumpkin pales, and I have some white spray paint in the garage, then hang on fishing wire, which I have, and done. Can't wait.

I am so excited that I have finally figured it out. What are you doing?

Halloween Ghost Ring -- Again

I know, I am still thinking Halloween. But, I can't help it. I love it, and the mini Milky Ways too.

Anyway, normally I do lighted houses in the house, etc. (May not do those this year, the hubs will be bummed, last year, he got so bummed I had to do them, but.....hmmm not sure I want to decorate the inside). But I really want a ghost ring. So, I may have to scoure Wally World, and get some cheap sheets, or Tah-Jay. Then, some wood, or pvc stakes, some foam balls (prob the most expensive) and markers, currently pondering what to use instead of foam balls for the heads, something cheaper. May have to hit the Dollar Store and wander the isles. Wonder if I could do it for $20 or less? Thinking.

This one is my fav with the cauldron.

Love these from a few years ago at Grandin Road. Honestly look like they are moving.

Someone's homemade ones love. Sorry, not sure where image is from.

Grandin Road, and life size. Fun.

Grandin Road, floaty and fun.

Yay, it's Friday.

Halloween Ghost Ring

I know it is only August, and it is back to school time. But, I don't know about you, I have been getting tons of Halloween emails. So, I thought I would think about what I was going to do this year. I decided last year to toss my old spiders, and go fresh.

Halloween ghost rings have been my favorite for years. I don't know why, I saw one once in someones yard and have always thought they were cute. So, I am currently entertaining the idea. Yes, this early.

Trick or Treat.

Boo! Halloween Month -- Black Furniture

I love black furniture. I really need more in my house. If you don't have black furniture, you can get the same feeling with black table cloths, and moody lanterns and wreaths.
Photo - Pottery Barn.

This look is also fun for the holiday. The table lamp is simply an outdoor lamp used indoors. Pumpkins, black and white photos a sideboard table with a black table cloth and you have the feeling. Boo!!

Halloween Crafts - Dancing Ghost Ring

With the weekend coming up I was thinking about crafts to make and Halloween came to mind. I love Halloween, this year it is on a Saturday. Our neighborhood goes Halloween crazy. I have wanted to make these Dancing Ring Ghosts for along time. Maybe the time is now. Normally I do giant spiders and webs, but they are getting a little worn out, and I love the ghost ring. So, hmm, I will have to take a trip to my local Hobby Lobby, which already has Halloween out and look around. What fun. So are you thinking Halloween yet, it is back to school.

Halloween Ghost Ring 3 for $69.00 at Grandin Road. http://www.grandinroad.com

Also from Grandin Road in conjunction with Martha Stewart, these wonderful cardboard chandeliers.

More Ghosts!! Also from Grandin Road from their outlet. Yes, on sale for $12.00. Now that's a bargain.

Also from Grandin Road these fun metal luminarias. Might be fun as a craft out of paper bags.

Halloween crafts, better to get started now than later.

Halloween Decorations

So I opened my email the other day and got an email from Grandin Road advertising their Halloween Decorations. Very reasonably priced. You can see the whole collection here: http://www.grandinroad.com. Now normally I don't think of Halloween in July. However, it did get me to thinkin about it, and anything I might want to make to add to my decorations could easily start now. Then, I might actually have them done in time. So is it the Dancing Ghosts? The Wanted Posters? Or just the Garland? Hmmmm.

All photos from Grandin Road Halloween Collection.
