Red Pottery Barn Side Table -- Repurposing Old Table

I love the red side table from Pottery Barn. (Image from Pottery Barn). I have a table I am thinking of repurposing in either Black or Red. Can't decide.

My Pottery Barn style side table. I am thinking of doing in a washed black or red. Any thoughts?
