Fountain for your Swimming Pool

I am always looking for ways to jazz up my pool inexpensively. I saw this pool a year or so ago on a tour, and when the builder had it open the other day I had to go back and have a look. I have an above ground pool, put in ground. This would work for any pool. The pool below, has a faux flagstone facade, and the 2 pots on either side, squirt water into the pool. It was way too windy the other day and they were turned off. I think I could accomplish this without the bench, but with 2 great looking pots and pumps of course. I have to look into this, as I would love this for my pool.

Vintage Barrel Chairs -- Repurposing Chairs

So, I found these amazing Barrel Chairs on Craig's List. 2 for $70.00. I snatched them up. Took them apart, washed them down with a oil removing soap (previous owners had used furniture polish on them). Then......

This is the taken apart, washed, and put back together stage. Had to make them less wobbly.

Used the Kilz, spray on primer, as they had dogs, and you never know if someone smoked around them. I mean they are old.

Spray painted them a gloss black.

My daughter, who is using them in her apartment picked out the fabric. Then they were recovered. Love staple guns.

They are soooo beautiful. All for $120.00. That's right 2 chairs for $60.00 each. They are amazing, and look oh so cute in her apartment, with her butter colored leather couch. They have even survived their first party. Oh, and if she ever gets tired of them, they can come home and be recovered in a different fabric.

How can you go wrong with classic barrel chairs? You can't, even if they are missing a little of the cane here and there. They look great and wear well.

Love, Love, Love, 9 by Design. Love the Novogratz's. Great show. Great design. I really want to get my hands on a copy of Downtown Chic. Looks like a great read and a great resource. I love their casual fun style. Elegant, fun, and family. They design it all.

Glass Sawhorse Desks

I love the desk below. I believe it is the Ballard Design Desk. Not sure. But I love the sawhorses and the glass. Truly beautiful. I am coveting this style right now.

Designer Amanda Nesbitt's office. She has that desk I love with the glass and the sawhorses.

I have a black leather wrapped top that I may put on sawhorses as a desk. Not sure. But I love the look.

Mirrored Tables

Mirrored tables. I am loving them. I love this mirrored entry table. My mother always had tons of mirrors in the house. She loved the way they reflected the light. I do too. I think I should add more mirrors. Not needing anymore tables, I am thinking about a few I have that have glass tops. Maybe switch them to mirror tops? Wouldn't be too expensive, just have the edges polished.

I also noticed that Target had mirrored tables for under $100.00, and Pier One had them too, but much more than $100.00.

Support Pole -- Johnny Pole

I can't remember where I found the great photo below. But I love how they made a support beam and pole a major fixture in the home. I have a Johnny, (support) pole in my family room and it doesn't look quite as grand. I am looking for ways to jazz it up. Any suggestions?


My support pole, that can't be moved, and clear story windows above, that are old and ugly, but now open to let in the light. But, what to do to make this pole not look like a stripper pole. Oh, and on a budget, well, no budget, just no money. So as cheap as possible.
Any suggestions?

Sarah Richardson - Nursery Show

I love Sarah Richardson Design. Oh, and Design Inc. etc..... All her shows. So I was tickled when I ran across her nursery and master bedroom show the other day under the Design Inc. A great show, that not only shows her husband but other Design Inc. staff. Oh, and who can forget the great design. Even if my daughter is grown up and in college, I still love some of the stuff in the nursery. The couch and chair are wonderful. I also love her use of all tones of cream, white, in her bedroom. I would try it, but not sure if the hubs could keep it clean. Enjoy.


Master Suite.

Nursery with changing table she designed. I love the mix of white furniture and dark furniture.

Who would not covet that couch? Anywhere in a home. Wonderful.

So cute the nursery is. The chair is actually a rocking and swivel chair. You can put any chair base on the bottom of a chair as long as it has a skirt, (it will cost you though). What a great idea in a multi-purpose room, people could swivel to talk to one another.
