Knocking out some last on the list Home Improvement Projects.  Or should I say-- Home Make-Do Projects.

Best part, time only, no cost.  I already owned the paint.  Now I am painting some furniture in both the silver and copper.  Can't wait for the reveal.

Tin Ceiling Look Wallpaper

This Johnny Pole, and these Clearstory windows are truly the bane of my existence. 

That being said, I went to work on them this weekend.  I wanted to cover them, as they are not very attractive, and I didn't want to spend alot of money.

Home Depot wallpaper, $12.50 per roll, (only one role needed), and yes, it is paintable, and looks like tin.

Cuff your Pants -- Show your Heels

The previous post is on rolling your jeans, or "Boyfriend Jeans".  Then when perusing my latest, In Style, I saw this great pic of cuffed pink pants, with a kind of sheen, and wow, I just have to do that.  I have a pair of black sateenish (not a word) pants I am going to roll, and iron, so they have that super crips look, and pair with heels or flats, and a crisp white shirt.  Can't wait.

Make your clothes work for you.  Use what you have.

DIY Boyfriend Jeans - DIY Capri Pants

Cuff your jeans!!  Make DIY Boyfriend Jeans, or DIY some no sew Capri Pants

As the days get hotter, the pants get shorter.  I don't always feel like a dress or shorts, but some comfortable boyfriend jeans or capri pants will do the trick.  You can DIY these so easy.  It is also called the 50's cuff.  Best part is no damage to the pant.

Take any pair of jeans or pants/slacks you want.  These are loose, and have a wider leg than I like, so they are perfect.

To make the leg thinner pinch in the middle in the front.

Then roll.

 Then roll again.

 And I rolled again.

Like I said this makes a killer loose fit boyfriend jean.  Or again, if you have a thin slack and want a capri, just roll.

Use what you have, and be a repeat/rewear offender.  It is great for the budget.

Sorry for the lack of posts, will get back to my regular posting.  Summer, what can I say. Wish I was doing something fun, but I feel like I am just running in circles.  What are you waiting for cuff some jeans.

Ghost Chairs and a Rustic Table

A while back I found some folding ghost chairs at Goodwill for $10 a chair.  Wanting to find some inspiration for their use, I looked to the dining room.

They have found a home at my daughter's house.  She was replacing her 1950's inspired table, and wanted something a little more eclectic.  They look darling or dahhhhling in her house.  These pictures were taken at my house prior to transport.

Repurpose, reuse, reimagine something today.

Two Tone Kitchen Martha Stewart Paints

My kitchen before.....It was Martha Stewart's Bedford Gray for years.  I loved it, but it had started looking a little green to me.  So I wanted a change, a two tone kitchen change.

Ta Da!  The big kitchen reveal.  Took longer than I expected.  I guess I need an HGTV crew waiting in the wings to come in an do eveything (wouldn't that be nice).  But, I pushed thru and am so glad that I did.  I love it.  It is really much brighter.

The floors are a gray tile, and the counters are poured concrete. 

All this in an old 1947 house.  Love it.

Yes, that is a portable dishwasher you see to the right.  Will one day loose cabinet space I am sure to put in an under the counter one.

What really went on, since there was no crew lurking behind the scenes. 

The paint is Martha Stewart, Magnetite MSL278, and Tailor's chalk MSL001.  I had them mixed in the Behr Premium Plus with the primer, in a semi gloss. 

Sneakity Peak - Two Tone Kitchen

Finally, I am getting around to some projects.  I have wanted to repaint my kitchen for quite some time.  Here is a preview, sneakity peak.  What started out as a 3 day project, quickly expanded into 5 days.  Oh, well, the results are worth it.

I am in love with it.  I will be putting the bottom gray cabinets on today, as well as the last of the white, no, I do not have open shelving, I am too  messy for that.  I can't wait to show the reveal tomorrow. 

I am so excited.  Finally a project completed.

Colors, etc. to be posted with completed kitchen tomorrow.
