Huge Porch Table

Saw this table at http://www.redticking.com, and it is available on 1stdibs. It is so amazing. I have a huge porch and would love a big table like that. I wonder? Hmmmmm. Right now I have 2 different size tables, but one huge one would be amazing. Enjoy.

Sinatra's Piano Swimming Pool

Frank Sinatra's Palm Beach Home, (years ago). I love the architecture, with the porch as the keys to the piano as the light comes thru. I also love the baby grand shape of the piano.

Wine Barrel Gardening

In looking to keep the ground squirrels from eating my vegetables from the root up, and the plant just falling over, I ran across this great article in Sunset Magazine. http://freshdirt.sunset.com/2010/06/the-ultimate-whiskey-barrel-garden.html.

It is about Mark Williams and the Brown-Forman Corporation in Kentucky, and his ultimate garden. He grows veggies for the cafeteria feeds over 300 right in a parking lot.

I love the look of this. I truly may have to copy it.

Jean Jackets - Wednesday Inspiration

A little hump day Wednesday Inspiration.

Jean Jackets. They make a great transition into spring. I love them with black. Especially black dresses. This great cropped jackets is well, is Great, Love it. I found one recently at Goodwill, yes, Goodwill, $5.49. So, check your Goodwill, and Old Navy, and get an inexpensive one to throw in the back of your car, you will be ready for anything.

Love them with black. Oh, and his style, great too.

Outdoor Dreaming

My super ugly side yard. Huge, and ugly, and a waste of water.

Sooooo I have been dreaming......

Parenthood TV Series, caught it on demand, and always love their outdoor spaces, of course I used to live in Walnut Creek, so I love the area too.

This got me thinking......

Some rocks and some bushes, I don't need the overhang, but maybe a potting area, or just my old wheelbarrow filled with flowers, and I could get the start of the look.

Now to kill the bermuda grass.......hmmmm......just dreaming.......

Free books for Kindle - Bookshelves -- Shout out to Hillary Duff

I love bookshelves!! I have a wall behind my TV. Post that pic another day. This great pic is from Dianne Von Furstenberg, her bookshelves, and amazing ladder. Love it.

So this brought me to free books for my Kindle. Don't you just love it when you log into Amazon and find a free book you just want to read. For me it was the "When Darkness Falls" book by James Grippando parts 1,2, and 3. I can't wait to dig in. I love mysteries, not so much a romance fan, do also love a good "Chick" book.

Meantime, I am reading, "Windswept House" by Malachi Martin, from the local library, yes, they do still exist, and just finished "The Carrie Diaries", loved the ending best!!

Quick shout out: I just finished the Hillary Duff book "Elixir", ok, yep I loved it read on my Kindle, bought a hardback for my daughter, yes, 2 of the same book. Hey she grew up during the "Lizzie" days. Hope she reads it soon, can't wait to talk about it. Oh, and Hillary, put out another, totally enjoyed it!!

Wine Room

We are doing a wine room, and this one has totally inspired me. Ours has a long skinny area, and I love the simplicity of the storage and the look of this room.

Maybe some easy shelves with stoppers at the end to hold the wine bottles in is exactly what we need. Hmmmmm.

Amazing Turquoise Kitchen

I have been thinking of repainting my kitchen. It is currently painted in Martha Stewart's Bedford Gray, which I love. Ok, I will say it again, I love that color.

But, if I were to change, it would be for this dreamy turquoise. This kitchen is from the mag 25 Beautiful Homes. I love this kitchen. I even have that exact floor tile.

So dreamy. Love, love, love it.

Army Cots Coffee Table

Got a small space? Need a coffee table and a sleeping spot? This could totally fit the bill.
An army cot used as a coffee table, just place trays on and then take off if you need a spot for a guest to sleep. Fun and functional idea.

Gardening -- It's Complicated

This time of year I always think about gardening. This kitchen garden from the movie "It's Complicated" is amazing. Though, I am sure it would also be tons of work.

Still thinking. Although, I will have to do some tomatoes. I knew a lady years ago, that did a kitchen garden as well as a cutting garden. She always had fresh flowers in her house. Maybe I could include some flowers as well. Love Zinnias.

Wine Corks

Do you keep or toss your wine corks? I have a friend that has a huge bowl in her kitchen over flowing with them, and then several other places around the house the same way. No, she doesn't have any kids. Next time I am over there, I will take pics to post. Anyway, she inspired me to store some wine corks in a large bowl I have in my formal living room. I didn't have many corks, so I grabbed a few to get started at a wine store. Now, I have been adding my own.

No, I don't have small kids around either. :)
