One of my all time favorite designers is Sarah Richardson of Design Inc. She has a new house project "Sarah's House" on HGTV. She is redoing an old Farmhouse. I love the show and her sidekick Tommy. It is fun and stylish to watch. Not only great decorating, but great personal style as well. If you have never seen it, catch on Saturday evenings you won't be disappointed.
If you have the Fine Living Network, some of the older "Sarah's House" episodes are on there.
Best combination of reality TV and decorating on TV. Worth the cost of cable.
Sarah, do another project. Love it!!
Entry and Mud Room. Great Inspiration.

Ralph Lauren Suede Paint
I love paint. It is the easiest way to transform a house, room, etc. And, best of all if you don't like the color, you can repaint. Recently we repainted our house a true white. Used the Behr with the primer in it and Love it!! Yes, it is a stark white, but it is an old house and I love the brightness. Also, the walls are cove, heavily textured, and not always true to square. I highly recommend it, if you dare.
But this post is about the fireplace. White painted brick and Ralph Lauren's Brown Suede on the mantle and floor. Love it. Just put it on with a small spongey roller that they recommend, and did nothing else fancy. Before it was this deep chocolate brown, it was a grey/green color for a few years. See, told you it was easy to change.
With Spring, Springing up everywhere, what DIY projects are you working on?

My Bright Red Rocking Chair
So this rocker used to be white. We got it when our daughter got her first set of shots. Well, she is now a Junior in college, and it has been painted a bright cherry red. It sits in the corner of her old bedroom that is decorated black and lime green. I love a pop of red in rooms it is so cheery.
What pop of color do you use in your rooms?
Cherry Red over the counter spray paint, I believe Rustoleum.

Spring is Here!! White Nail Polish!!
When trolling through my local Walgreens Drug Store the other day, I swung by the nail polish department and was whisked back in time. Pearly White Nail Polish. It reminded me of when I was a girl, and every spring and summer, my Mother would bring out the Pearly White Nail Polish, and talk about a Sister-in-Law that wore it with long natural nails. Me, I prefer a short, ok really short nail. And, you know, nothing looks better on them in the spring and summer than a short white pearly nail. Did my toes, yesterday, and just might have to do my nails today. Bring on the flip flops.
